Bajrang Punia Temporarily Suspended by NADA Ahead of Paris Olympics Selection

NADA Provisionally Suspends Tokyo Olympic Medalist Bajrang Punia for Doping Test Absence

Wrestling star Bajrang Punia is in hot water after skipping a doping test during trials in Sonipat. Furious after losing to Rohit Kumar, he stormed out without giving a urine sample. Punia hastily left the SAI facility after failing to qualify, ignoring NADA officials’ inquiries about the test sample. He was training in Russia for the trials organized by the IOA ad-hoc panel. Now suspended, Punia’s future in tournaments is uncertain, risking his Paris Olympics dreams. However, as a Tokyo medalist, he still has a chance through world qualification trials.
